POSITION: Child Care Cook
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Current Safe Food Handling Certification
•Knowledge and application of the Canada’s Food Guide
•Minimum two years experience in food preparation for large groups
•Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
•Standard First Aid with CPR for Infant and Child – Level C; an asset
SKILLS:
•Able to meet the strict Health and Safety requirements
•Able to work in a small kitchen space within tight deadlines
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
•To plan well balanced menus on a rotational basis
•To purchase food supplies to meet the needs of the menus
•To monitor and maintain accurate purchasing records
•To prepare and serve nutritious and delicious meals and snacks
•To prepare and serve meals and snacks, observing safe food handling practices
•To always maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
•To liaise with Supervisors within NLCC
•To align menus, meals and snacks in support of the Child Care and Early Years Act
•To maintain professionalism and confidentiality
HOURS OF WORK:
•Monday through Friday daytime hours-approx 35 hrs/ week
•(includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break)
SALARY RANGE: According to NLCC Pay Grid
