POSITION: School Age Program Staff, Full Time Position, Watford
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implement a quality After School and School Age Program for children 4 to 12 years of age
• Plan and implement programming with co-educators and children
• Build positive relationships with the children, families and school community
• Follow the Child Care and Early Years Act requirements and NLCC’s policies and procedures
• Maintain the health and safety requirements within the programs at all times
QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma/Degree in any of the following fields of study:
• Early Childhood Education diploma and a member in good standing in the College of Early Childhood
Educators, preferred
• Bachelor of Education
• Recreation and Leisure
• Child and Youth Worker
• Experience working in a School Age Program with children between 4 to 12 years of age is an asset
• Knowledge and understanding of child development
• Knowledge and interest in Emergent Curriculum
• Certified in Standard First Aid with Child & Infant CPR – Level C
• An acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check
HOURS OF WORK:
• Monday through Friday 35 hours per week
• Additional hours required (i.e., professional learning, maintaining ratios, etc.)
